Noor Agha the kite maker 2007

Noor Agha is a renowned kite maker who made kites for the movie makers of the best-selling novel, The Kite Runner, which will be distributed by Dreamworks and Paramount Vantage in Nov. this year (2007).
Kite-flying was banned during the Taliban’s rule in 1996~2001, and after their fall, the Afghans began flying kites again. As the popularity of kite-flying grew to the level of pre-Taliban era, so did the demand for the good quality kites.
Noor Agha's wives, using their special glue, heled him produce enough kites to meet the clients’ needs. They made up the only women kite makers in Afghanistan.
