The Kite Maker and His Family
Yassin, 9, the second son of Noor Agha, brings a kite with a scorpion emblem with a writing that say, "Noor Agha, the son of the Scorpion," to his house in the middle of a cemetery, Kabul, Afghanistan, Tuesday, March, 6, 2007. Noor Agha is a renowned kite maker who made kites for the movie makers of the best-selling novel, The Kite Runner, which will be distributed by Dreamworks and Paramount Vantage in Nov. this year. Noor Agha's wives, using their special glue, help him produce enough kites to please the clients' needs. Some of his children can also make their own kites with plastic bags and bamboo sticks. As the Afghan New Year's Day (Nawruz) approaching on March 21, the finger tips of Noor Agha's family got busier for mass production.
